About me

My name is Jochen De Weerdt. I am working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management of the KU Leuven. I work within the Research Centre for Information Systems Engineering, LIRIS for short, where I teach and conduct research in the area of Information Systems, with a special interest in Business Process Management, process mining and applied data analytics. More information about my research can be found here. As for teaching, I am lecturing the courses on Business Information Systems and Business Process Management. I am also academic coordinator and lecturer in the Postgraduate Studies in Big Data and Analytics at KU Leuven. 

Before my appointment at KU Leuven, I worked as  a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Information Systems School (Business Process Management Discipline) of the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Australia). In this role, I was mainly involved in the Cost-Aware Business Process Management project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). In addition, I conducted research in the area of learning analytics.
